My First Book Signing: Indie Love Wales 2026

On Saturday 24th October, I put on a whimsical dress and hooded capelet, drove to Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, and had my first ever book signing!

What an amazing day filled with making new author friends, admiring pretty character art (and some cheeky NSFW bits too!), meeting lots and lots of readers, signing my books and buying a few gorgeous new ones!

I was so pleasantly surprised by how many readers made a beeline to my table and picked up a new book, most were after The Rose and the Serpent, which warmed my little author heart, as it’s definitely my favourite book I’ve written so far.

The event was so well organised by Alice La Roux and team, who were on hand all day and so encouraging and supportive (my table was actually right next to Alice’s, so I felt extra cared for!). They even asked me to be interviewed on camera for the Indie Love Wales socials, so if you see me being completely awkward and cringe on the internet, no you didn’t…

I had managed to preorder 4 books before the actual event, so I collected Veil of Dusk by Corinne M. Knight and the first 3 books in The Hestaesia Series by K. L. Thorne, starting with Lost in Love, which I actually preordered because I came across it on TikTok and knew I needed it in my life.

Veil of Dusk is a stunning special edition with sprayed edges that I simply couldn’t live without after spotting in on Beventi. This was my first experience using Beventi, and I didn’t set my own books up on it, I did a Google Form for my preorders, but I will probably use it next time as it was so smooth and easy to use.

I was lucky enough to be on a table directly across from R. S. Williams, who is one of my best friends, and our other gorgeous friend Alice Ivinya came along to be Rhianne’s assistant. And, next to Rhianne was Gem L. Preston! Just to really make my first event a complete joy. I mean, what better company could a girl ask for on a wildly wet and windy day on the Welsh coast?

I also got to meet the fabulous B. A. Pepper and her glamorous assistant Sam, the hosts of A Podcast of Wingspan and Smut. If you don’t already listen to the pod or follow these hilarious ladies on socials them, off you go, you’ve had your marching orders.

It was genuinely one of the best days I’ve ever had, just being surrounded by so many fellow authors and readers, in a beautiful old hall in south Wales, and feeling so charmed and heart-warmed by all of the conversations I got to have with new and existing readers. I even had a few photos with readers, got invited onto a local radio show (I’m not sure anything will come of that once she realised I wasn’t actually a local!) and got to speak on camera for the ILW team’s socials, talking all about my books.

I haven’t got any more events booked in yet, but I will definitely be attending more after such an incredible experience at my first one.

Thank you so so much to the Indie Love Wales team, and everyone who came by to say hello, get a signature, buy a book, take a selfie, or grab a bookmark and a sticker!

Lyndsey x
